We adore you O Christ and we bless you,
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
主キリスト、あなたを礼拝し、賛美します。
あなたは尊い十字架とご死去をもって、世をあがなってくださいました。
◆Station 9 — Jesus falls the third time ／イエス、三度十字架の下に倒れる
When you were young, you buckled your own belt.
You went where you wanted to go.
あなたが若かった時には、自分で帯をしめて、
思いのままに歩きまわっていた。
But when you are old, you will put out your hands.
Others will put your belt on for you.
They will take you where you do not want to go.
しかし年をとってからは、自分の手をのばすことになろう。
そしてほかの人があなたに帯を結びつけ、
行きたくないところへ連れて行くであろう。（ヨハネ21:18）
Jesus makes this journey willingly.
He gives himself to others’ control because it is the Father’s will.
イエスはこの道行きをご自分の意志で歩まれた。
また彼自身を他の人の支配の下に置いた、それが天の父の御心だったからである。
Jesus, as we go through life, our dreams, expectations and abilities change.
By your example, may we learn to accept what is ours to do and to endure
what we cannot change.
May we be at peace in that acceptance.
イエス様、私達の人生を歩む中で、私達の夢、予想や能力は変わります。
私達が成すべきことや、また変えられない事実に対して耐えることを受け入る、
という事をあなたの例から学ぶことが出来ます。
どうかそれらを私達が平安の中で受け入れられますように。
Lord Jesus Crucified, have mercy on us.
十字架にかけられたイエスよ、我らをあわれんで下さい。
