We adore you O Christ and we bless you,
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
主キリスト、あなたを礼拝し、賛美します。

◆Station 6 — Veronica wipes the face of Jesus ／ヴェロニカ、イエスのみ顔を拭う
He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows,
and familiar with suffering.
彼は侮られて人に捨てられ、悲しみの人で、病を知っていた。
Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised,
and we esteemed him not.
また顔をおおって忌みきらわれる者のように、彼は侮られた。
われわれも彼を尊ばなかった。（イザヤ53:3）
Moved by compassion, one woman steps from the crowd,
removes her head covering and wipes the sweat and blood from the face of Jesus.
深い哀れみに動かされ、一人の女性が群衆から出てきた。
そして彼女の頭の覆いを取り、イエスの汗と血とを、そのみ顔をから拭った。
Though she did not know it, Veronica saw and touched the face of Jesus.
You have taught us that when we give a cup of water to someone in need,
we serve you.
Instill in us, Lord, the compassion and determination of Veronica,
who without fear for her person or reputation, was willing to serve.
ヴェロニカは、知らずに、イエスのみ顔を見て、触れました。
もし私達が一杯の水を必要な人に与えるならば、それはあなたに仕えるのと同じだ、
とあなたは教えられました。

Lord Jesus Crucified, have mercy on us.
